GED Preparation
Effective January 1st, 2022, the NYS Education Department (NYSED) has selected the General Educational Test (GED® Test) to replace the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™ Test) as the primary pathway to a New York State High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma (formerly known as GED).
-
We will continue to accept any regents' subjects in which the student has scored a 65 or higher. This will be used to supplement one of the subject tests.
-
Please note, all passing TASC scores received from 2014-2021 will continue to be applicable towards the HSE requirements.
Any combination below will grant you an HSE Diploma.
-
Former TASC scores
-
Regents scores 65 and over
-

-
Regents waivers (earned during COVID-19 pandemic)
The GED Exam is offered in English and Spanish, via pencil-paper or computer-based exam.
There are four test subjects (content areas) on the GED Test:
-
Language Arts/ Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) (formerly Reading and Writing on TASC exam)
-
